Rec 28 4PR 10

Mr. Max Müller to Sir Edward Grey.--(Received February 14.)

(No. 26.) (Telegraphic.) P.

Peking, February 14, 1910. ACCORDING to a telegraphic report which I have received from His Majesty's consul-general at Canton a mutiny occurred at that place on the 11th instant, in which Hakka soldiers, to the number of about 2,000, were concerned.

It is not thought that foreigners are in any danger, nor is any attack on the foreign concession expected. As a measure of safety, the foreign engineers employed on the Canton-Kowloon Railway have taken refuge in the concession, together with their families.
